Growing up, there was nothing better than coming home to a warm batch of chocolate chip cookies.
And when I had my daughters some 20 years ago, I loved making them my favorite cookie.
Today, for my boys (7...well almost 8, and 6...yup I started all over again) I made my favorite (and theirs too) cookies...but I give them a little makeover.....
Spring has sprung...the grass is ris....I wonder where the birdies is....
When I was a kid I remember reading that line in a Garfield Comic strip in the weekend newspaper that my parents would get (They loved doing the word search and reading the obituaries - don't ask...)
But every spring I always remember this comic haha. It just makes me giggle.
I love spring, the mornings are still cool with fog, sunrises are beautiful, the air smells so fresh. And the food starts to get lighter it seams. More relaxed.
I do love a good salad all year round, however, spring just gives that freshness to the salads with more flavors. And this quinoa salad does just that!
Well isn't this the cutest little leprechaun out there!! Ok ok I love dogs...animals in general....
Tomorrow is St. Patrick's Day, and us Irish Folk do not need to drink green beer to prove we are Irish either.
I'm actually Scottish and Irish and grew up in Newfoundland....So I got the best of all the sayings, beer and whisky drinking, food lovin memories out there.
Speaking of food....Do you have specific meals you enjoy for St. Patrick's Day?
I don't know what it is, but every year around spring, I get a hankering for muffins.
Maybe after the long months of winter and heavier meals, now I just need something lighter!
Or maybe with the nice early spring morning, I just want something I can enjoy while on my early morning walk for my breakfast. Whatever the need is I'm all over it!

One of my favorite things to do is make treats. There is something I just love about having sexy little morsels of food around that is healthy. A big bowl of berries or cut up veggie platter with delicious dips is right up my alley. But at the top of that alley....well next to a Vegan Donut....is chocolate!
There was a time where I would only eat milk chocolate...you know...the Areo Bar...yeah that kind of chocolate.
But now my taste buds have matured, along with my knowledge of ingredients, and no I will not eat an Areo Bar any more.
